Google, Y U do this? Another Nexus 9 hint, straigh from I/O!

A new Nexus tablet could be on its way!

Yes, we cried a bit insider after the whole Android L launch event during Google I/O 2014, as nothing about a new Nexus device was announced. Still, it seems that it won’t be long until a new Nexus will actually hit the market.

After all the rumors about the so-called Volantis tablet, made by HTC, Google “accidentally” gave us a hint about a new tablet, which could be the one we’re talking about. And we know that Google is famous about giving these subtle clues about future products. Remember the guy filming with a Nexus 5 during the unveiling of the KitKat statue, while the smartphone wasn’t even released? Yeah, that kind of clue.

In a document detailing Android L, three devices are presented: a Nexus 5, a Chromebook and an unknown tablet, with a shape different than the Nexus 10 and too big to be a Nexus 7. We can also spot a camera, positioned differently, and front-facing speakers. And who puts front-facing speakers on their devices? Yep, you guessed it, HTC!

Could this be the Volantis tablet? Are we going to see one more Nexus device before the program is going to be replaced by Android Silver? We’d say yes, but let’s not draw a conclusion, as it’s very likely for Google to make an announcement soon.
