Apple fills a patent for an advanced stylus

New iPad in the works?
There have been a lot of rumors about Apple thinking about adding a stylus..I mean, iStylus to their tablets, but nothing was confirmed until now. It seems that the Cupertino-based company has recently filled a patent for a “Input Device Having Extendable Nib”.
Could this be just the start for what we call the iPad Pro? It’s very possible, but let’s not go that far and check out what we know about the stylus.
All the functionality will be concentrated in the tip, as the body of the stylus could be extendable or even flexible. As the nib gets longer, it could act like a paintbrush, touching more points of the screen.
According to Apple Insider, the stylus will have buttons or a similar mechanism on it, and it could include a gyroscope, that can tell its position, compared to the tablet. Sounds good until now, right? I’m really curious about this, as it will be a direct competitor to Samsung’s S Pen, coming with the Galaxy Note phablet.
Do you think this is a necessary addition to the iPad?
