5 Aspects To Consider When Buying A New Smartphone
Andrei Calina

buying a new phone

A smartphone is a serious investment nowadays, as more and more people decide to spend important amounts of money on a new device, so it’s no surprise that they want to know as many details as possible before splashing the cash.

If you’re in the same situation, you shouldn’t make such a great deal after this, though, since this doesn’t presume doing tons of research. Actually, there are just some major aspects you need to consider before buying a new smartphone and you should end up with the perfect model, suited to your need.

Let’s see what this is all about, shall we?

1. Price

Is a bit obvious that this is the very first aspect you should check, right? Fancy phones, able to do all kinds of things and with futuristic features don’t come for cheap. Still, there’s always the option to get them with a two year contract and pay less.

If you opt for the latter, make sure you choose a monthly plan that you can actually afford, otherwise you will end up in the impossibility of paying it. Be very careful with your finances!

In the end, you can always opt for a cheaper model, with pretty much the same features, which you can afford with ease. And this leads to the next aspect…

2. Features

A lot of people want solely flagships, even though they don’t really need all those extra (and pretty cool, to be honest) features. It’s like a statement and, if you ask us, this isn’t the main purpose of a smartphone.

Stick to a model which has functions that you will use all the time. If you are a first-time smartphone users, you don’t need an eye scanner or a squeezable frame, which enables new features. But again, maybe it’s just us.

3. Display size

This is another major aspect you should think about when buying a new smartphone. As you probably know, the trend among manufacturers is to make them as big as possible, with virtually no bezels.

This is, of course, a great thing, but having a lot of screen real estate also makes them a bit difficult to use.

Simply go to an electronics store or wherever you can find the models you’re interested in and test them. And by test we mean ‘see which one actually fits better in your hand and pocket’. You will thank us for this!

4. Camera

You know what they say, “the best camera is the one you have with you.” And since you have your phone with you all the time, it’s pretty much essential to invest in a phone with a good snapper.

No matter if you decide upon a flagship or a mid-ranger, make sure the photos it takes are good. You can find a lot of reviews online, which include camera samples, perfect for making an idea about the overall quality.

5. Battery

Of course, we shouldn’t forget about the capacity of the power pack. Most phones have around 3000mAh, but if the display goes above 5.5″, the battery capacity should also grow.

This is a very important aspect, especially for those who use their phones a lot during the day and can’t charge them whenever they want.

And this is pretty much it! We know that these aren’t the only details you should care about when picking a new phone, but, at least for us, these are the most important.
